PTA Exec Board
The Prairie PTA is a volunteer-led organization that seeks to impact every student, bring our community together, and ensure our teachers and staff know their value. The Prairie PTA is led by our exec. board.
The exec. board meets at Prairie once a month to discuss business and vote on current measures. The current Principal and one Prairie teacher liaison attend these board meetings to serve as the voices of the administration and teachers. The exec. board all oversees all current PTA chairs.
Taking a position on the executive board is one of the best ways to impact Prairie’s programs. Positions are slated in January for the upcoming school year and are voted on in the spring semester.
Not every position will be up for re-election each year depending on whether the current board member is returning. The term limit for each board position is two years.

Meet the 2025-2026 Exec Board
CO-PRESIDENTs
The Co-Presidents provide support to all other Exec members, develop and implements the PTA activities calendar and are the voice of the board.
In addition to the monthly Exec meetings, the Co-Presidents meet with the Prairie Principal monthly to discuss school business and upcoming events.

CO-PRESIDENTS ELECT
The Co-Presidents Elects shadow the current Presidents. They also provide support to the Exec board members and are vital in helping to recruit and select the follow year’s Exec board.
The Treasurer tracks and manages all Prairie PTA transactions, fulfills check requests, PTA reimbursement request, and provides budget reporting to the Exec board.

The Recording Secretary records all business, discussion and voting outcomes at Exec board meetings and sends recordings to the PTA Co-Presidents and Exec board.
The VP of Engagement is dedicated to engaging PTA membership, facilitating programs that help reach out to new parents, and building Prairie’s community. Committees that fall under this role include:

The VP of Community Building & Outreach facilitates and oversees Prairie’s community events and participation in philanthropic causes. Committees that fall under this role:

The VP of Communications manages and oversees the weekly newsletter, PTA website content and updates and works closely with the PTA President and Co-President to craft all PTA communications. Committees that fall under this role include:

The VP of Student Activities helps oversee all student activities and provides necessary support chairs managing them. Committees that fall under this role include:

The VP of Fundraising helps oversee many of the fundraising efforts that support vital Prairie programming. Committees that fall under this role include:
- School Supplies

- Read-A-Thon
- Spirit Dining Nights
- Spirit Wear
The Prairie Experience Chair oversees additional fundraising events that help to fund grade-level experiences. Committees that fall under this role include:
- Prairie Fun Run & Pancake Breakfast
- March Radness
- Skating Parties
The Member at Large helps recruit, educate, and communicate with the Room Parents for each classroom, and facilitates parent volunteer activities. Committees that fall under this role include:

The Past Presidents assist current co-presidents with their transition into office and provide general knowledge and feedback to the executive board.
