Friday Night Camp Out

Students including (from left) Maliyah Darrington, 8, Hazel Ecklund-Johnson, 5, Emma Coleman, and Violet Ecklund-Johnson, 8, and parents turned out Friday night to see Principal Scott Merfen and teacher Tim Coleman who were spending the night in a tent atop the roof of Prairie Elementary School, 67th and Mission Road in Prairie Village. The pair were fulfilling a promise to students who were challenged to sign up 600 people to participate in a fund raising walk for the school.

 

Second-grade teacher Tim Coleman(left) Principal Scott Merfen were thrilled when a bag containing chilli was hoisted up on a rope from a family wishing them good luck as they were preparing to spend the night Friday in a tent atop the roof of Prairie Elementary School, 67th and Mission Road in Prairie Village. The pair were fulfilling a promise to students who were challenged to sign up 600 people to participate in a fund raising walk for the school.
