It’s time for Prairie’s annual Art in the Garden event! This year it is going to look a little bit different as we have projects for you to work on at home, as well as a collaborative art installation to be enjoyed by the entire community.
Though we may be learning apart right now, we are all weathering this storm together. And after every storm comes a rainbow! So let’s spread some hope in our community by working on rainbow themed arts and crafts projects.
Parents will pick up an art packet in front of the school on September 25 during school hours. These are sorted by grade. It is important to pick up the correct packet as each grade has a designated color of the rainbow for the community art project. Your packet will include a wire, straws and zip tie of a certain color. That is your grades color. Fill up the wire with objects you have laying around the house that are that color. This finished wire project needs to be brought back to school (same place as pickup) during school hours on Monday, September 28. The other supplies in your bag are to be used at home for fun arts and crafts projects. You can do the projects in the video, or you can make up your own. Be creative! These projects can be displayed around your home or yard.
Important dates:
Friday, September 25 – pick up art packet at school.
Monday, September 28 – bring back completed wire project to school (other projects are yours to decorate your home).
Friday, October 2 – ride your bike or walk to Prairie and enjoy the collaborative art installation in the Prairie garden.
Use #artinyourgarden to spread hope on social media.
