The Prairie Read-A-Thon is a kid-driven fundraiser, allowing us to shine a light on reading as well as raise funds to continue to offer great opportunities at Prairie like Art in the Garden, STEAM Night, field trips, staff grants, and the Variety Show.
Are you computer savvy or still stuck in dial up? Either way, we have a way to make sure all your minutes are tracked. You can track your minutes:
PTA funds amazing opportunities for our students and staff. The Read-A-Thon is our largest fundraiser.
Sending pledge requests are easy using our ready-to-go template in Pledgestar. Simply add your family and friends’ email addresses and/or phone numbers and let Pledgestar handle the rest.
Donations can be made on a per minute basis or a one time flat amount. Once received, Pledgestar will notify you and send the donor a thank you! Donors can opt to mail a check.
Please note that while fundraising is encouraged, it is not required to participate.

Here are the three goals we will be tracking throughout the next two weeks:
That’s right, there are raffle tickets and that means prizes. Here is how students can earn tickets:
In addition, teachers will have various opportunities for students to earn tickets throughout the two weeks. Our 6th grade leadership will then distribute tickets and students can then place them in the raffle boxes located in the front entryway.
One way to earn raffle tickets is through BINGO! Items on the bingo board range from reading to a pet to sharing a good book (check out social media for a template for sharing later in the week).
Complete one square at a time. Each bingo can be redeemed for one raffle ticket (12 max). Just turn them in at the end of each week!
Each day, three clues will be shared on the announcements at school and on social media. That night a video featuring a Prairie staff mystery reader will be released at 7:00 p.m. on our social media so be sure to give us a follow if you don’t already. Watching them read will count toward your daily goal of minutes!
Be sure to look out for bookmarks featuring all our staff’s favorite books to read for more ideas!
The Learning tree is proud to partner with Prairie Elementary for our Read-A-Thon this year! The first 50 students who bring a completed signed reading, showing 500 minutes read, to the Learning Tree will earn $5 in Learning Tree Bucks. Logging your minutes online? Just download the log to show them in store.
Please note that the Learning Tree Bucks will expire 3 months after date of issue.
