This week marks National Red Ribbon Week, sponsored by the National Family Partnership.
It’s estimated that children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don’t, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.
Prairie is proudly participating in National Red Ribbon Week, and we hope you’ll use this opportunity to talk to your student about respecting himself/herself and saying “NO” to drugs.
The 6th graders have created daily themes your student is encouraged to participate in:
- Monday: Wear sunglasses – “Your future looks BRIGHT
- Tuesday: Wear a team jersey- “Join the Drug Free team!”
- Wednesday: Crazy sock day – “Sock it to drugs!”
- Thursday: Wear a tie – “Don’t let drugs tie you down!”
- Friday: Halloween costume – “BOO to drugs!”
