The numbers are in and the Prairie Pride 5K run was a fantastic success!! Not only did we meet our goal of over 600 registrants to put Mr. Merfen and Mr. Coleman on the roof of Prairie next Friday evening, but we raised over $18,500 (including $4000 in pledges) for Prairie!! That is nearly $4000 more than last year!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for coming out and walking and/or running for our school.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Tessie Wissel who chaired the event for a second year in a row. Amazing job Tessie!!
We would also like to thank everyone that came and volunteered Friday and Saturday including all the Prairie teachers that helped support the run by pledging students, helping promote the run, volunteering, and participating in the event. We could not have done this without all of you!
We also need to give a BIG thank you to Stephanie Meeker, Deborah Mower, Mr. Merfen, the Prairie Fund board, as well as, the PTA board for all the time they put in over the last 6 months to make the run such a great event. Also, an extra special thanks goes to Front Door Fitness for our fabulous running club. Over 100 kids participated weekly and logged many miles over a 4 week period. Thanks also to Ashley Walburn for starting our Cheer Committee this year for the run. It was so much fun. Thanks to all of our sponsors and the entire Prairie Community for coming out on Saturday and making this such a success.
