The truth is, hosting many events such as these takes a significant amount of support from Prairie families and the community. We couldn’t do it without our “village”!
Whether you commit for an hour per year, or an hour per week, we have a volunteer role that is perfect for you! Not able to make it to daytime events? We have many events at night, on the weekend, or volunteer opportunities behind the scene.
Volunteering at Prairie, and through the PTA, is one of the most impactful ways to enhance the education of your child and other children at Prairie.

Room Parents support classroom teacher's by managing party sign-ups, scheduling classroom volunteers, etc.
The highly popular library volunteer helps the librarian restock shelves and check out books during your child's library time.
Art committee volunteers assist the art teacher in displaying student artwork from all grade levels throughout the school.
Right before school begins and throughout the year, Prairie pairs existing families with new families to become a "buddy family.” Buddy families answer questions about Prairie and help them feel right at home in their new school community.
Watch D.O.G.S. is a volunteer opportunity for fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles and other father figures. Participate in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.
Talk about a sweet job! The bakers and hospitality volunteers provide food and treats for various needs such as teacher appreciation days and various events school needs throughout the year.
