One of Prairie’s goals for students is to provide plenty of opportunities to explore leadership and recognize the importance of community service.

Beginning in 2nd Grade, two students from each class are elected to serve on Student Council as representatives of their classroom. Student involvement varies from year to year. In the past students have volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, collected canned goods for Harvesters, spread holiday cheer at Brighton Gardens, etc.

Elections are held at the beginning of the school year. Information on nominations and elections is sent home by teachers.
