Zero need to cook dinner tonight. Why you ask? It’s Prairie spirit dining night at Chipotle in the Village from 5-9pm.
Be sure to mention Prairie. Chipotle will donate 33% of the sales back to Prairie- this is a very generous donation.
If 100 Prairie families go and spend an average of $25, Prairie will earn $825!
After you grab dinner, head on over to the general PTA meeting in the library at 7pm.
Why you ask? Perhaps it was installed incorrectly and causes one to rubberneck to read it, instead of gently facing the direction of traffic.
Thankfully, Mrs. Jones noticed this right away and they are slated to come back and adjust it soon.
In the meantime, try not to cause any accidents as you read about the upcoming 5K while driving 25mph down Mission. Carry on, Prairie Panthers, carry on!
The Auction is Prairie’s largest fundraiser of the year, and it kicks off in the fall with individual grade-level parties. These parties are a great way to meet other parents in your student’s grade, and they help jump start the fundraising process. Save the date now, and start looking for sitters for your grade’s party! Be on the lookout for an e-vite from your grade’s host.

Happy Monday! We received this from All City Management Services, our crossing guard company. They do have this position staffed, but would prefer a “friend of Prairie. ”
My name is Hilary Calvert and I am Area Supervisor with All City Management Services for Prairie Village, your crossing guard company. I am reaching out to you today to see if you could pass along information to your parents that we are and have been on the search for a crossing guard for your school. We would love to have a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, neighbor, etc… to join our team and keep the kiddos safe. No worries, we do have your school staffed and set for the start of school but we always need alternative back-ups! Attached is a flyer for the Crossing Guard position. As you probably know the position would have the guard working a half hour in the morning and a half hour in the afternoon. The position pays for the full hour, both in the morning and afternoon, for a total of 2 hours a day, for $22 a day. I have attached a flyer. We appreciate your support and look forward to a great school year!

We know, we know. “Already?” you are thinking?
In all honesty, we do need help. There isn’t anybody signed up for the last shift to serve ice cream and toppings from 5:30-6:00. We are looking for seven helpers. Click on this link to be one of the lucky seven.
Thank you so much!
Visit our Prairie garden to see what’s been growing this summer!
Walk the path of Creeping Jenny in “Grandma’s Garden” to check on our native and non-native perennials. The Rose of Sharon is buzzing with bumblebees in the morning.
The butterfly garden has a variety of nectar and host plants for butterflies – look for swallowtail caterpillars on the Rue and Curly Parsley, and monarch caterpillars on the Milkweeds.
Strawberry plants and honeysuckle vine are growing in the hummingbird garden- look for pollinators around the honeysuckle.
We are growing tomatoes and peppers in the vegetable gardens – you may see a tomato if the squirrels have not found it first.
Basil plants are growing well, so please take a few leaves home for dinner!
We will be working in the garden Saturday morning, July 28 to dig the potatoes and prepare to plant cool season vegetables. Join us any time between 9-11. It’s supposed to be a gorgeous day!

Today, May 25th, is an early release day. The office closes for the summer on May 30th and will reopen July 25th. Have a fun and safe summer!
