The 6th Grade Leadership Team presents…
Come and celebrate being thankful for our wonderful school and community.
November 26 from 6:45 a.m. until school starts.
Breakfast will be all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and Tang to drink prepared by Chris Cakes.
Tickets are $7 per person in advance with a maximum of $28 per family.
$8 per person at the door.
Special Guest Day (formerly called Grandparent Day) is Friday, November 8!
There are 2 menu options to choose from (listed on the form). In order to accommodate everyone, we must have reservations with menu choice and payment no later than Monday, October 28. Your guest is welcome to bring a lunch as well!
Please make checks payable to Prairie Elementary.
If you have any questions, please call Nancy Weeks at 913-271-3610.
If each student sells only 20 rolls or bundles of bags, Prairie’s profit will be $30,000! Classrooms having 100% participation or selling 100 bags will win a popcorn and popsicle party! *
Any student who sells 20 or more rolls, or has $120 donation made on his or her behalf will:
- Have his or her name announced to the entire school
- Have his or her picture on the school lobby monitor
- Be invited to a before-school donut party
Orders are due this Monday, Oct. 28. Distribution will take place on Friday, Nov. 8.
Questions? Please contact Scott Wissel at email@example.com.
*If your family decides not to sell trash bags this year, a $20 donation per student is suggested.
We need candy and lots of it. A barrel is set up in the entry way for your donations. The classroom that donates the most candy will receive a Krispy Kreme donut party, so remember to write your teacher’s name and grade on the bag.
We also need volunteers to hand out the candy, so get creative and decorate your trunk or tailgate. Volunteers please contact Shelley Asselin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We need your help!
Please take a few minutes to see if you have or could solicit something that would fit into one of these categories as Prairie Auction items to help support your children’s education.

Bring the family and join us for Prairie’s UNIQUE Art in the Garden event – held in Prairie’s very own garden!
This event will feature many fun “hands-on” art projects for the kids, a food truck with dinner options for sale and great companionship with Prairie Families.
If you have questions or would like to volunteer at this wonderful event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to all who participated and volunteered this morning!
Please show our sponsors your support by thanking them when you patronize their businesses. Without them this wonderful community event would not be possible.
We currently have well under 400 registrations for our upcoming 5K. We need over 700 registrations to make it a success. THE RACE IS A WEEK AWAY!
Even if you can’t attend the event, you can still register for the race to support our school …and your registration gets you a free t-shirt!
The Prairie Pride 5K is our second biggest fundraiser — we listened to your requests and eliminated the door-to-door fundraisers — so please support this event to ensure that it is successful, and will continue for years to come!
To date, we have 10 -15 students registered per grade level. We hope to have many more! To inspire Prairie families to register, we are doing the following:
- We are offering a PIZZA PARTY for the class having the most student registrations!
- If we reach our goal of 700 registrants Mr. Merfen will attend Prairie as a STUDENT for a day! He will sit in classrooms, go to specials, play at recess — do everything students do — for ONE FULL SCHOOL DAY!
Sign up today at Prairie5k.com to guarantee your free race t-shirt!
Please help make this a successful fundraising event. Show your support and register for the Prairie Pride 5K today!
