150 spirit week
Photography by Christopher Smith

One of the biggest challenges we faced with planning our 150th Celebration was how to get students involved. The class projects were one way we helped students realize the significance, and the other was our 150th Spirit Week.

We started off the week by singing Happy Birthday to Prairie and celebrating with purple donuts. Then we had a special visitor, President Abraham Lincoln, stop in to tell us all about life in the 1800s. Students continued “dressing the part” by wearing hats throughout the century, and we capped off the week by walking to school dressed as Pioneers.

Holly Grummert and Jessica Brown were the masterminds behind this week-long celebration. Thank you both for giving us memories that will last a lifetime! And a special thank you to Christopher Smith for photographing these events so beautifully!
